Senior Management
Bill Pritchard, President and CEO
Beacon Hill Associates' founder and President, Bill Pritchard, is a third generation insurance professional, active in the industry since 1985. He holds the Environmental Risk Management designation, and is a certified instructor for insurance agents' continuing education in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware, where he teaches pollution liability courses. Bill has published articles on environmental issues in several national insurance publications, and has consulted with various insurance companies regarding policy language creation and modification. His recommendations, born from a thorough understanding of the product line, have led carriers to adopt significant coverage enhancements over the years. Beacon Hill currently writes business in forty-eight states for over eighteen different carriers. Bill credits the company's success over the last eighteen years to the caliber of people he works with and to Beacon Hill's unyielding commitment to quality coverage from quality carriers.
Amanda Duncan, President and Manager of PartnerOne Environmental Underwriting Division
Amanda Duncan is President and Manager of Beacon Hill's Underwriting Division, PartnerOne Environmental. With over 15 years of professional experience, she is responsible for developing, implementing and expanding in-house underwriting programs with several environmental carriers. Amanda and her staff analyze and underwrite all classes of environmental risk including General Liability, Contractors Pollution Liability, Professional Liability, Excess Liability, and Premises Pollution Liability. Prior to joining Beacon Hill, Amanda was a Product Line Manager and Underwriter for three environmental insurance carriers. Amanda also previously worked as a Project Engineer for an environmental contractor in Atlanta, GA, where she helped manage and implement cleanup efforts at Superfund and NPL facilities throughout the southeastern US. Amanda has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, with specialization in Environmental Engineering, from Georgia Tech. Amanda is married with two daughters and enjoys running in her spare time.
Brett Amick, Assistant Vice President, Manager of South Central Region
Brett Amick joined Beacon Hill in September 2009 as Assistant Vice President and Manager of the South Central regional office. He oversees new business, renewals, production, and service for this branch of the company, which focuses on Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Brett started his insurance career in 1993 with Century Surety Company in Columbus, Ohio after serving in the U.S. Navy. He then moved to the MGA/Brokerage side of the business with Burns & Wilcox, starting in their underwriting management training program in Michigan and subsequently transferring to Dallas, Texas with them. More recently, he worked for M.J. Hall & Company as Vice President and Branch Manager of the MJH Plano Texas office.
Allison McGreal, Assistant Vice President - Underwriting Division
Allison has insurance industry experience going back to 1989 with 17 years dedicated to underwriting Environmental Engineers, Consultants, and Contractor risks. She’s also underwritten Oil & Gas Consultants, Analytical Testing Laboratories and Architects & Engineers. Allison inially worked for a retail agency, giving her a thorough understanding of clients needs. She holds a Certificate in General Insurance, a CISR designation, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work with a Spanish minor from Colorado State University. When not at work, you can find Allison spending time with her family or cheering on the Denver Broncos.
Michael Tighe, Assistant Vice President
Michael Tighe, originally from Throgs Neck, NY moved to Virginia in 1989. He started his insurance career with Farm Bureau in 1997 in the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area. Learning the ropes quickly, Mike became Virginia rookie of the year within the company. He earned a business degree from the University of Virginia here in Charlottesville, VA. Working with Beacon Hill since 2001, Mike insures pollution-related exposures on all types of property throughout the country and contracting risks across the globe. He has published articles in American Agent & Broker and Insurance Journal magazines pertaining to the EPA Lead Rule and BP Oil Spill Disaster. When not helping brokers place environmental insurance, Mike can be found chasing after his baby boy and volunteering at Caring for Creatures Animal Sanctuary.
Bob Varnes, Senior Account Executive
Bob was raised in the Los Angeles area and started his insurance career on Mid Wilshire over 30 years ago. A veteran of excess and surplus lines property and casualty insurance, he has spent the last 5 years underwriting contractors environmental and construction general liability insurance. Most recently Bob was vice president of underwriting for a program manager, writing construction accounts and managing the contractor pollution program. A recent transplant to Arizona, Bob spends his spare time exploring the desert southwest and doing a bit of bicycling or golfing.
